Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Anti-wrinkle injections assist with the treatment of wrinkles that are caused by the regular tightening of facial muscles. An anti-wrinkle injection is a purified, medical preparation containing a particular protein that when injected into a muscle, stops the muscle from contracting. At White Hill Clinic, these injections are administered by your skilled practitioner. Anti-wrinkle injections cause the muscle to relax and, once that happens, your lines will become less and less noticeable. When performed well, everyone will notice that you look youthful and relaxed.

Anti-wrinkle injections when administered by your skilled professional, will leave you looking refreshed and natural. Please make sure you only consider qualified and experienced practitioners. At White Hill Clinic, we have the very best skilled practitioners. The treatment itself only takes about 15-20 minutes. Most patients accept anti-wrinkle procedures without topical anaesthesia and describe mild pricking pain. However, if requested, we can apply topical anaesthesia with ice.  Other agents may be available to decrease pain associated with injections if requested. The effect from these injections can last 4-10 months and results seen in as little 72 hours. There are no long-term adverse effects documented.

Laser

CO2 Laser is a somewhat new technology in the treatment of many skin problems. It can be used for the treatment of a wide variety of skin-related concerns and most specifically, target a particular problem in the skin. In contrast with some invasive laser resurfacing devices, a fractional laser only affects a small portion of the skin to deliver tiny pinpoints of laser light to the selected area. It is this specificity for a distinct target that allows a laser to successfully treat problems such as a sunspot, capillary, or scar without affecting the surrounding healthy skin.

A layer of skin is ablated or vaporised to induce new collagen production and restructuring to reduce wrinkles, tighten skin, and improve skin texture. Laser treats many skin matters, including:

  • Lines, furrows and wrinkles
  • Uneven complexions
  • Pigmentation and enlarged pores
  • Scarring (includes acne scarring)
  • Age spots
  • Sun damage
  • Laser resurfacing can be customised to suit your skin type and will leave you with youthful looking, silky and softer skin.

Treatment with a CO2 laser is considered to be the optimum approach to rejuvenate skin that shows signs of damage due to ageing, sun exposure or scarring.

Advanced Dermal Fillers

Over the years repeated facial movements construct lines in the skin. When you’re young your skin rebounds back into place, but as you get older, collagen and elastin production diminishes, and the lines may become deeper and easily observed. Dermal fillers are designed to fill in facial wrinkles. Dermal fillers can also be used to add volume to areas of your face and to create fuller looking lips.

Treatments tend to last between six months and two years. The results are decided by a few factors such as the choice of filler. The product most suitable for you will be discussed at your consultation. Click here for more information about Fat Transfer.

Skin Rejuvenation

Caring for your skin to reduce the signs of ageing. Skin consists of three layers:

  • Outer layer (epidermis) contains skin cells, pigment, and proteins
  • Middle layer (dermis) contains blood vessels, nerves, hair follicles, and oil glands. The dermis provides nutrients to the epidermis.
  • Inner layer (subcutaneous under the dermis) contains sweat glands, some hair follicles, blood vessels, and fat Collagen fibres give support, and elastin fibres give strength and flexibility to each layer.

With ageing, the outer skin layer (epidermis) thins and the number of pigment-containing cells (melanocytes) decreases. The remaining melanocytes increase in size.

Aftercare

For mild treatments, there is normally some redness. Time out of the sun for two days is recommended. A hat, sunscreen and other protective clothing is also advised. Most occupations are okay to continue.

For deeper treatments like dermabrasion, deep laser or stronger peels, mild discomfort and more redness may occur and so time out of the sun until the skin has repaired. Topical treatments will be required and time away from the public may be preferred. Strenuous activity and swimming should be avoided. Advice will be given by the Medispa team regarding creams to use. Please continue to use sunscreen.
