Using Your Body to Regrow Your Hair

It can be devastating when you lose your hair. There are many possible reasons for hair loss: lifestyle, genetics, environmental factors, and ageing can all take their toll. Not to mention the added stress of seeing and feeling your hair thinning. Your hair is a major part of what makes your look yours, and if you’re seeing it fade away, you shouldn’t have to watch it idly.

We are leaders in the use of platelet-rich-plasma (PRP) and autologous micrografting technology (AMT) to give you back your hair. Guided by esteemed plastic surgeon Dr Joseph Rizk, we can help restore the hair that defines your look allowing you to look and feel like your best self!

What is Hair Restoration?

Simply put, hair restoration techniques seek to undo hair loss. The reasons for hair loss may vary, but hair restoration can provide relief in almost any situation. Some patients seek out hair restoration after they have gone bald, and their hair has ceased to grow completely. Others start looking for remedies as soon as they notice their hair is beginning to thin. While most people think of the head as the only place on the body affected by hair loss, it can also occur on the face, chest, arms, and legs.

Hair loss is very common – it affects around 50% of men and 25% of women and the exact cause is difficult to isolate. It could be caused by a combination of factors, such as genetics, hormones and in women, pregnancy.

Both platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and autologous micrografting technology (AMT) work by using your body’s own healing processes to combat hair loss. Whether drawn from your blood or skin, they catalyse the growth of new blood pathways resulting in new, healthy cells that are able to regrow your own natural hair.

Autologous Micrografting Technology (AMT)

What are the benefits of AMT?

Autologous micrografting technology (AMT) is a proprietary hair restoration technique developed by Rigenera. It prompts cell regeneration in the scalp, face, and body by harnessing the power of growth factor therapies that have historically been used in other areas. This can work by implanting progenitor and stem cells derived from your skin into the treatment zone, spurring the growth of new hair follicles and other structures that promote healthy hair growth.

The all-in-one device has been used to combat conditions including:

  • Male- and female-patterned baldness
  • The loss of hair on the face
  • Lost or patchy body hair
  • Thinning hair

The AMT Procedure

AMT derives its power from your skin. The first step is harvesting small sections of healthy skin from a donor area. These segments are then processed in Rigenera’s machine to separate out four key, constituent elements: growth factors, progenitor cells, stromal vascular fraction (SVF), and extracellular matrix (ECM). These are then injected via syringe and needle into the treatment zone.

AMT Recovery

The PRP process requires almost no downtime.

Patients experience little to no discomfort both while the blood is collected and during the injection process. If there is any pain, it typically subsides within an hour to two. You can usually return to your daily routine immediately, but it is generally recommended that you abstain from strenuous exercise for at least one week.

AMT Cost

Costs will vary according to the size of the treated area and the intensity of the treatment. Treatments to the scalp tend to be more extensive than other areas of the body and may incur a greater fee. Contact our friendly staff on 1300 888 383 for more information on AMT cost.

Growth Factor Therapy

What are the benefits of PRP?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatments are believed to help regrow cells in a variety of situations. From muscle and joint injuries to hair restoration, PRP has shown promise over traditional treatments. Sometimes referred to as “autologous conditioned plasma,” the research into PRP is ongoing, but the potential is great.

When used to address hair loss, PRP has demonstrated to combat issues like:

  • Thinning hair
  • Baldness in both men and women
  • Loss of hair on the face
  • Bald patches on the body

The PRP Procedure

Similarly with AMT, treatments with PRP begin by drawing blood and preparing it for injection. Typically, a few vials of blood are drawn from your arm and the blood is then placed in a centrifuge to separate it into three parts. The three parts of blood – platelet-rich plasma, platelet-poor plasma, and red blood cells – have different weights, so this processing allows for the isolation of platelet-rich plasma. Finally, PRP is injection into the skin of the treatment area, either with a needle and syringe or a microneedling device.

Similarly with AMT, patients experience little to no discomfort both while the blood is collected and during the injection process. If there is any pain, it typically subsides within an hour to two. PRP Cost

The cost of PRP treatments will vary, and it is tied to the extent of your procedure and the number of sessions required to achieve your goals. It depends on your treatment plan, but most patients need to undergo a series of injections to reach their desired results. Your provider at HTCA will outline all of the details of your treatment plan during your consultation — including the number of sessions necessary and the total cost.
