procedure
FUE is performed using micropunches that are 0.8mm in diameter, either manually or by a motorised device. The punch device incises the skin surface around every hair follicle before they are carefully teased out by hand using forceps. Throughout the extraction process, removal of adjacent follicular units is avoided as it may cause the appearance of a line scar. Our team of highly trained doctors use a random or zigzag pattern is used, keeping 4-5 adjacent follicular units intact.
At HTCA, each hair follicle is carefully implanted, one by one, using a specialised implanter tool taking into account the angle, direction and depth. Throughout the procedure, the delicate hair follicles are stored in a special holding solution to maintain their temperature. The handling of the follicles is also kept to a minimum to ensure the highest success rate possible.

FUE options

Full Shave
The donor site (at the back of the scalp) and the recipient site are trimmed to a “zero”. This allows for a maximum number of hair follicles to be extracted.
Line Shave
Hair is trimmed in a line with a width of 1 cm or more, according to the length of the hair. This is so that the existing hair can cover the line.
No Shave
Hair follicles are extracted from the donor site without trimming the hair. In this method, the total number of hair follicles will be less than 1000 in a single sitting.
